Film festival opening night at Downtown Davis' Varsity Theatre, 6:00 p.m.
Featured film is "From the Community to the Classroom" by Jann Murray-Garcia and Ryan Gonzales, followed by Q and A. A selection of international short films launches the evening.
Also, guest speaker Karen Joy Fowler, former Davisite and author of "The Jane Austen Book Club", will discuss the writing process and her experiences as her novel became a Hollywood movie.
