Customer Parking

A guide to parking in downtown for customers. Where can I park for a quick trip? Where can I park all day? Answers to these questions and more.

CUSTOMER PARKING
All non-permit public parking in downtown Davis is FREE, but there are time-restricted zones. Refer to the parking map for more information. The Davis Police Department enforces all public parking downtown.

BEST BETS FOR LONGER VISITS DOWNTOWN
When at all possible, use our two conveniently located public parking structures, located at Fourth/G streets and First/F streets. Both garages have three-hour time limits in designated areas except on weekends when they have no time restrictions.

PARKING STRUCTURES
The entrance to the First and F parking garage is located adjacent to the Holiday Cinemas on F Street, midway between First and Second streets. The entrance to the Fourth and G Street garage is located on the 400 block of Fourth Street, behind the Signature Stadium 5 Cinemas. Time limits in parking structures are three hours except on weekends when they have no time restrictions.

IF YOU NEED TO PARK ALL DAY
The Fourth and G Street garage has a limited amount of all-day spaces available for a daily charge of $3.

FOR A QUICK TRIP
20-minute zones (indicated by a green curb) are located at the corners of many blocks throughout the downtown and in most public parking lots. These spaces have been created to accommodate customers needing short-term parking for quick trips as well as loading and unloading.

HANDICAP PARKING
Handicap parking spaces are available in all of the public parking lots and structures. Designated handicap spaces (blue indicators) are strictly enforced and are in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Persons with valid handicap permits displayed may also park for extended periods in timed or permit zones.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING
Four public electric vehicle-charging stations are available in the downtown. There is one station in Parking Lot #2 (South F Street lot), one in the Southern Pacific Depot lot and two stations in the Fourth and G parking garage. Cars that do not use charging stations are not allowed to park in these spaces.

CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES
Licensed contractors working on projects within downtown should purchase construction permits, available through Davis Police Department. Construction related vehicles are encouraged to be parked on peripheral streets/lots whenever possible.

RV, TRAILER, TOUR BUS AND WIDE VEHICLE PARKING
The City of Davis recommends that recreational vehicles, vehicles with trailers, tour buses, or wide vehicles such as rear-wheeled pick-up trucks, park in the outlying areas on the street. Parking theses types of vehicles in parking lots poses an unsafe or blocked-vehicle situation; a parking citation can be issued.

MOTORCYCLE PARKING
Motorcyclists are encouraged to park in specially marked motorcycle spaces in Lot #2 (South F Street lot) and Lot #3 (North F Street lot).

PARKING ENFORCEMENT
90-minute and two hour parking is enforced Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. along streets and in lots, with no enforcement on Sundays and holidays. Check parking signs for specifics.

WEEKEND PARKING
On weekends, unrestricted (no time limits) parking is available in the following areas: both Fourth and G Street and First and F Street public parking structures; Public Lot #5 (Boy Scout Cabin lot); City Hall; UC Davis lot; the school district lot at either B or C Street north of Fifth; the Amtrak lot, all X permit parking zones as indicated on the map.

OVERNIGHT PARKING RESTRICTIONS
Parking is prohibited from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. on certain streets downtown to accommodate weekly street sweeping. Overnight parking is not allowed at the SP Depot without an Amtrak permit. Check parking signs for specifics.

TOWING
Your vehicle can be towed or impounded or immobilized by a parking boot for the following reasons: 1) five or more outstanding parking tickets, 2) parking in a posted unauthorized area or in an unsafe manner, 3) parking in a private lot that is properly signed stating that it is restricted to employees and customers of that building only.

DAVIS FARMERS MARKET PARKING
Saturday and Wednesday Market customers are encouraged to park in the lot behind City Hall off B St. just north of Fifth Street. City streets may be used as well. For information on the time or permit-restricted areas, call the Davis Farmers’ Market, (530) 756-1695.

AMTRAK PARKING
The SP Depot Parking lot, adjacent to the train station is free to riders of Amtrak. Parking is restricted to Amtrak riders only Monday – Friday, 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Amtrak riders must have an Amtrak parking pass to put in their car window or be subject to a written parking violation. On weekdays, parking is unrestricted in the Amtrak lot after 5 p.m. and there are no restrictions on Saturday, Sundays and holidays.
