Downtown employees are encouraged to use City of Davis X or D permits, park in outlying areas or use alternative transportation (such as bicycles or buses), so that parking in the Downtown core is preserved for customer use.
Generally-speaking, X permit parking rings the periphery of Downtown and is available to all Downtown employees, and D permit parking, in the 1st & F garage, is available to employees of businesses in Parking Assessment District #3 (bounded by 3rd Street, 1st Street, D Street & the railroad tracks). For the 2010-2011 year, pricing for X permits begins at $96/year and is pro-rated by month of purchase. D permits may be purchased for $30/year and are not pro-rated.
