ARE YOU READY FOR "$30 on 1-30"?
The Davis Downtown Business Association is repeating the very successful “$30 on 8-30” shop local promotion from last August later this month, in hopes of boosting early 2010 sales figures for Downtown businesses & encouraging consumers to use Downtown Davis Gift Cards they may have received during the holiday season. Shoppers are encouraged to spend $30 or more in Downtown Davis on Saturday, January 30.
On August 30, many businesses grossed 50% - 150% more than typical profits for the day! Local shoppers again will be enticed to pump as much as $1.5 million into Downtown cash registers, thanks to special discounts at nearly 40 Downtown businesses, and a drawing for dozens of valuable prizes worth $30 or more, donated by Downtown retailers and restaurants.
If the entire adult population of Davis (estimated at approximately 74% of the total 64,000 population), were to spend at least $30 in Downtown Davis on Saturday, January 30, nearly $1.5 million would be pumped into the cash registers of Downtown businesses that day. Now that's a local economic stimulus program! And, it's a fantastic way to experience the increased benefit to the community of $30 spent with local retailers vs. with a "big box" store:
As much as $18 of the $30 you spend in Downtown Davis on January 30 will stay and re-circulate in Davis, vs. only $1.80 of $30 spent at a "big box"

Have fun discovering how each business will entice YOU to spend $30 or more Downtown that day! You'll be rewarded with an "I Spent $30 on 1/30 - have you?" sticker to proudly wear, while supplies last. See the list below of nearly 40 participating businesses...be sure to check back often for new additions!
$$$ - Save your receipts and enter the "I Spent $30 on 1/30" prize drawing give-away, featuring at least 30 prizes worth $30 or more donated by Downtown Davis businesses! Receipts from ALL Downtown Davis businesses, totaling $30 or more and dated January 30, 2010, can be submitted as entry. One entry earned for every $30 spent!
